This is Toni, another aunt, that is a experience NewYorker and was giving us directions on the hot spots

Anyway, it just so awesome to be related to someone as brilliant as Ed, the best part is that he is a very kind a sweet men, he is also a photography lover!. Matt and I are photographing his son wedding next year in Massachusetts

This is St Johns Cathedral

Last week of honeymoon- Monteverde and Pacific Nort, Matt and Sol in Costa Rica
Tuesday, September 2, 2008, 06:22 PM - ME

After getting off from our rustic transportation... (HAHA!.. kidding)...

We are ready for the next adventure!, we are on the other side of Arenal Lake, heading towards Monteverde, a cloud forest..

The cloud forest turned to be the "monsoon" forest!!, it was raining everyday, hard core...
Here we are in a Orchid Garden, next to our hotel, holding umbrellas and taking photos..

We did other activities, like Canopy, under the monsoon, quite an experience, sadly no photos.. I was holding haard with both hands to those ziplines!

Walking trough Santa Elena, a Cloud Forest Reserve

lots and lots of hummingbirds everywhere! I wish I was faster to get them in the frame, so hard..

After 3 days in the cloud (MONSOON) forest, we decided it was enough of that, and we headed to the beach, hoping to relax under the sun (little we knew.. haha...) Our taxi driver shoot this photo in our way to Liberia city, where a car was waiting for us

So, here we are, driving a little car that I choose..and heading for the "sunny beach" to relax after hiking and hiking for days in the rain.., we needed a change..

We are at Potrero Beach, and the Monsoon decide to follow us..., we had little breaks from the rain during some ours in the morning, that morning was special with this nice rainbow shinning for us

it was raining hard that morning, (monsoon is following us!) but, suddenly it gave us a break, so we quickly went outside to enjoy the little sunshine

Rivers come to the ocean, so the water in the rainy season is not exactly crystal clear.. but who cares, we are having fun!

Look at this guy!..he was fighting me!.. or my camera??

The guero is happy!!!

I was running in the beach, it was a loong and wide beautiful beach, I felt so alive and happy!

That morning we changed beaches... (ha) .. we left Potrero, and drove to Flamingo beach, which is very close. We found a hotel with a great view "Estella de Fuego" , so we checked in for 2 nights.

Following this stairs we found a private beach, neat!!!, just for the two of us!..

Matt is my filmmaker this days, wait to see the amazing video he has from the whole trip!

Sand at this "volcanic beach" is black and rocky, I think is beautiful.

Last photo, and I put down my camera and got into the water.. niiiice!, it is warm

That afternoon we drove to "Tamarindo beach" a more develop and tourist area, specially for surfers.. and dogs.. (haha), lots of them, it was so funny to watch a few of them ran so free and be so happy!

I wanted photos from the two of us!.., so I found a guy and asked to press the shutter of my camera while Matt and I run in the beach for a minute ...

We got a few cool ones..

We are in our honeymoon and it's awesome!!!

Next Day..., last day!!

It's raining again.. but we have a sailboat ride booked for the morning, so here we go!

After a while, it stopped raining, and the sun is shinning!

Last night in Costa Rica, and it's not "monsooning".. there is a little rain falling.., but I want sunset photos, so here we go.. flamingo beach..

Good Bye Costa Rica!!!, Del Sol is leaving! It was an amazing adventure!!!!

Life is Great!, Traveling is awesome!!!... and having the love of your life sharing both is the best thing in the world!!!

Honeymoon , our adventure continues at the Volcano Arenal area in La Fortuna Costa Rica
Sunday, August 24, 2008, 06:33 PM - ME
We left the Osa Peninsula and headed to the Arenal Volcano area., Osa was amazing, but new adventures are waiting, so here we go!

We ride a small boat trough the Rio Sierpe

And flew back to San Jose aiport, we use Nature air airlines, the flight was pretty entertaining as you can see how the landscape changes, very cool views

From San Jose we drove to the arenal area and in the way we stopped at "La Paz Waterfall gardens" a nice place to admire some amazing waterfalls and some nature and wildlife from close

The next day after our arrival we book an adventure to go "rappelling", i couldn't take my camara BUT Matt had his video camera with a housing, so we'll show you this later..., Rappelling is one of the best things we did, incredible waterfalls and so much adrenaline running when going down. I want to do it again!

This is the cacao fruit, inside are the seeds that when toasted make chocolate

We went to hike the volcano area, as close as it was safe

No lava "view" that night, as it was cloudy, but we had an amazing sunset

The next day we are on a different adventure, on our way to the Tenorio Volcano National Park, we stopped to meet the "Arbol de la Paz", a tree, a Ceiba that is more than 500 years old, the grandfather of this forest

This is the little seed

And this is the huge tree, 22.5 metros round., amazing!!!.. so beautiful!

This is a "guayaba china" (guaba) big and delicious!

We arrived to the park and hike for 1 1/2 hours in the forest, seeing all kinds of beautiful trees and leaves, like this one, decomposing and going back to earth, I think is really gorgeous

Hot springs!... after the initial hike, it felt like heaven here...

This river is called "Rio Celeste" and it becomes blue as a result of a chemical reaction when 2 rivers come together.., pretty amazing.. pretty blue!

The color blue/green is on the rocks at the bottom of the river, the water only reflects it

Finally!!! After hiking for HOURS!!.. we arrive at the waterfall... so so beautiful!!!

To go back, we had to go across the river, the current was pretty strong, it was hard.., but fun!

We made it!!!

And today!, rafting on the Toro River!!!

SO MUCH FUN!!!

Yesterday the sky was pretty clear, and we went to the other side of the volcano to check the "lava rocks", so... there we are, totally excited for the amazing show, and as I turned my camara on to see If I can take a photo.. no CF Card... can you believe it?????? Matt was very upset... and I was sad but we will have the memory in our hearts, it was an amazing spectacle...

This volcano erupted back in 1968, after that it has been in permanent activity. It is a nature wonder and I'm very happy we got to see it

This is the view we have from our room, today...

Yesterday Matt took this photo from our hotel, not on the "lava side", but you can see the red cloud coming from the top

Tomorrow we are heading to Monteverde, a cloud forest, It's going to be totally different, can't wait to see more beautiful nature!

We are in OUR honeymoon!!!... First 5 days OSA Peninsula, Drake Bay Costa Rica
Sunday, August 17, 2008, 12:32 PM - ME
Matt and I got married almost 7 months ago, we are blessed with so much work that was impossible to take a honeymoon right after the wedding... but finally, here we are!!!

We are in Costa Rica, we will tour the country for 18 days, we started in the Osa Peninsula,at the
Aguila de Osa an amazing rain forest paradise, we are having a blast!

Please bare with us, we are not available on the phone and emails might take a few days to be replied....

From San Jose, we had to take another flight to this remote region in the middle of nowhere

We are staying in a beautiful lodge "Aguila de Osa inn", immediate after our arrival we have a new friend "Coco" that lead us to the beach

There are all kinds of amazing animals and plants, this is one of the most intense wildlife regions in the whole world

This is just the begining of the adventure, we will be in the country for 18 days.

Life is great!! We are in Paradise!!!

This are a few animals and flowers around where we are, so beautiful!!, this monkey was mad cause people don't feed him. Here they are pretty strict on maintaining nature as it should be.. so no bananas para el chango!..

Canopy!! one of the must do things around if you like to "fly" on top of the jungle

To get to and back the platforms we had to cross this river, we were in the back of this truck, having a blast!

Isla del Cano is a natural reservoir for sea life, yesterday we were there, i got stung by a jelly fish... but it's all part of the adventure

This is a whale sanctuary, we weren't allowed to get closer (and I have a not so good lense... to get a really good shoot...)
We saw mamas and baby whales.. it was really amazing

In the middle of the ocean, on our way back from the island we saw this fellow on his own ship.. haha...

Next morning.. we are going back to the Corcovado National Park, Sirena Station this time

It's 7:00 am and we are riding a little boat, a storm is coming but this beautiful rainbow is an amazing view..

We arrive at this remote beach, this place looks like a "jurasic park" kind of paradise

The beach is full of this little cute crabs, hundreds and hundreds it's amazing!

monkeys everywhere!

and amazing HUGE trees

This is a very big bird, a tiger heron (don't know if I'm spelling it right) she's drying her wings on the roof of the ranger's station at the park.

This is us having luch, in the middle of the jungle, really delicious and fresh fruits and sandwiches, the best pineapple ever!

During the 3 hours that we were hiking, this couple of guys stayed at the beach holding the boat... I was sorry for them!, fighting the waves..

Time to go.... :(

Tomorrow we are heading to the Volcano Arenal area, more adventures to come!!
