Christ the King Cathedral, Atlanta, Georgia: 8.25.07 Marisol & Ken's wedding
Sunday, September 16, 2007, 02:39 PM - I do
I'm most of the time working at the beach, but these days, I'm having the opportunity to shoot in different conditions, in this case a huge beautiful catholic church.
Matt was hired by this couple to shoot the wedding, I came as a "bonus'.. haha... (since I happened to be around...), so I wasn't the primary photographer, I only second shoot him, and enjoyed my self... I specially liked my time with Marisol... I adore to shoot brides!!!... she was so happy and excited about the day!...
Marisol & Ken are a fusion of Europe & Latin, their families came from very distantes countries to be here with them, it was really nice to see everybody showing their love and support for the new couple.
Check out the SLIDESHOW, click here to see more images including Matt's shoots that as usual are fantastic.
Here are a few from my camera:
I had like 5 minutes to shoot "the bride" prior the ceremony, so we walked inside this little patio in the church, it turned out great, as she was perfect, smiling, and glowing...
Matt shoot this one inside the church, I loved the architecture and stained glass... gorgeous..
A few seconds before Marisol walked the aisle with her dad... the anticipation of the big moment coming ... I can you feel it??...
From the moment the service was over to "we have to leave" to go to reception... only a few minutes... totally a different deal that what I am use to at beach weddings,... we have to be super fast, and use creative light to get these images, ... fun, but challenging..
First Dance..and reception fun moments..
As Latin wedding tradition... this one ended almost at 3:00 Am... whew.... Matt and I were totally wore out after shooting more than 10 hours in a row, but at the end of the night we came back home smiling, a wedding story was captured!!!... How cool is our job!!

South Seas Island Resort, Captivia Island: 07.08.08 Diane and William Trash the Dress!
Sunday, August 26, 2007, 12:13 PM - Trash the Dress, I do, I do
Diane & William got married the day before, a lucky date 07-07-07 . They are a wonderful couple and were so excited about having more photos the next day that they didn't care about waking up early in the morning to get dressed again, and ready for the fun!.
We are at Captiva Island, at the South Seas Resort , the day is gorgeous! and we are heading out to take some photos .
The session started at the golf course, a couple of photos there, and then we headed to the beach...., I was still warming up, thinking that I will get some photos at the beach shore, some romantic stuff, and then possible getting in the water. Diane was wearing her beautiful wedding dress, and I wasn't sure that she will actually get in to the ocean..(some brides are very worried about actually trashing the dress)
Well, before I could even suggested, she was in, all the way, diving!, and all I could do was to follow the action and get in the water my self...
Any photographer will know that this is a very risky thing to do, specially when you are using a fish eye and have to be really really close to the moving subject and in the ocean..
I was very lucky to have my photographer friend Nina Sutherland helping me out that day, holding my stuff and being my "movil off camera flash"
This kind of amazing couples, and the opportunity to shoot fun images that are a celebration for the marriage, is the biggest reward of being a wedding photographer., I can't wait for my next one!
Much Love for Diane and William!!!

HURRICAN DEAN!!!... Photojournalism in the RUN!
Monday, August 20, 2007, 05:41 PM - NEWS
As Hurricane Dean is dangerously approaching to Mexico., Matt is down there!!! on assigment... He was hired to shoot a wedding on the Island of Holbox, which is located 30 mins away from Chiquila a very little town in the middle of no where...
Anyway... This is a really amazing story....
The wedding was schedule for yesterday afternoon but the plan had to change as the Mexican Goverment ordered an Immediate Evacuation of the island.
The bride, family and guests had to leave!!!!...
With 35 guests and no idea where to go, they quickly were able to set a PLAN B
This bride and groom got to get married, in a very old town "Valladolid"... approx 3 hours away from Cancun.
Matt wrote more of this incredible story and photos that tell it, in his blog.... I felt that I needed to share this as is really incredible.
He was able to jump in a plane yesterday evening and he's back in Atlanta with me, so we are safe, keeping our fingers crossed hoping that our family , friends and all the people (including lots of couples on their weddings or honeymoons, down there are ok after DEAN.
Our associate photographer Vincent is in Playa and he will be sending us reports and photos on how things are.
PLEASE CHECK MATT'S BLOG to read the story and see more images
This is the image from the satellite as I write this post., pretty scary...
Matt & Sergio are ready to leave the Island
Bride & Groom, check out the huge clouds behind!!!
As they were riding the boat out of the island, a very strong storm hitted them, the bride is protecting herself under the groom's shirt
They got in to this little town, Valladolid, the Bride & her sisters crossing the street to get to the hotel where they had dinner
Nothing stopped this Wedding, they are MARRIED!!!!!!!!
Isin't this story amazing!!!...
